Emotional Support for Carers – Your Mental Health & Wellbeing Matters

Unpaid carers are those of us who look after a friend, partner or relative who can’t do without our care and support. This might be helping with shopping, being on the end of the phone, helping with paperwork or going along to hospital appointments. As an unpaid carer you might feel exhausted, overwhelmed and stressed and that you just have no time at all for yourself.

This online training from Islington Carers Hub & C&I NHS Trust will aim to share tips and guidance to help your wellbeing.

  • How caring can make us feel
  • Looking after yourself as a carer
    • doing something for yourself: getting a break, social opportunities, training, employment
    • getting some help with caring: friends, paid-for carers
    • sharing feelings: ICH – Support Group
  • Challenges of the caring role

Cuppas with Mobilise
Islington Carers Hub work together with Mobilise. They host five online ‘cuppas’ every week where carers can meet other carers. The sessions are at different times of day, including one in the evening.

Digital Support/Support Getting on Zoom
We’re all on a digital journey! Getting an email address, getting access to the internet, booking GP appointments online, all require an investment of time and an open-ness to discovering new ways of doing things. With this in mind, we’ve created a series of digital guides, specially developed to help people to get the most out of technology.

If you need help joining a group, contact us via our helpline 020 7281 3319.
