CARERS PATHWAY GROUP

The Pathway group is a forum for people to discuss general issues affecting their caring role such as finance, changes to services or housing for example. The group has two-way communication with the Carers Providers Forum and commissioners at the Islington Council. Islington Carers Hub chairs the meetings and they are attended by the Carers Commissioner from the Council. The group is also a way for the Council to consult with carers with the aim of improving carer involvement in service planning and evaluation of services.

The meetings will often have a guest speaker talking about a current topic of interest – suggestions for topics from carers are encouraged.

Membership is open to anyone in Islington age 18 or over who is providing unpaid care to another adult. Please note that we cannot provide individual casework at the meetings – but we can at our Advice SessionsYou may also find one of our Support Groups helpful.

We are looking for new members for the group to strengthen its voice and build on the excellent work that the members have put in to date. You are welcome to attend a meeting and just observe to see if it’s for you. Meetings are usually once every two months in Islington Town Hall, Upper St., London N1 2UD (click on this link for how to get there) unless stated otherwise.

For more information about the group please contact us and you can download the Terms of Reference at the bottom of the page.
