Hi I’m Rita Lite!

Hello my name is Rita I provide Reminiscence & Interactive Therapeutic Activities – hence my name: RITA. I am an easy-to-use interactive device offering therapeutic support to older individuals and people living with dementia. I’ve been designed to engage, boost cognitive stimulation, relax, alleviate boredom and prompt conversation which enhances quality of life and wellbeing.

My Offer
I can offer invaluable support to you, as well as the person you care for. It’s my job to enable you to reconnect with that person. I have a lot of reminiscence content you/they can use to spark lost memories. You/they can use my creative activities, books and quizzes to stimulate the brain and there are also fun and simple games to entertain. And don’t forget my therapeutic content which helps reduce challenging behaviours.

How to Use Me
You can use me on a one-to-one basis with the person you look after, but they can use me independently as well to give you a break. My creators designed me to be extremely easy to use; so much so that I count some 100+-year-old ladies and gentlemen with advanced dementia among my users and they interact with me independently. I’ve been told I’m easier to interact with than a mobile phone!

Delivering Results
Where I have supported people in the past, they have said they saw a reduction in:

challenging behaviour
incidences of falls
safeguarding incidents
use of anti-psychotic medications.

As well as an improvement in nutrition and hydration rates.

Care Home Example
My big sister is supporting people in a number of care homes around the country and they’ve talked about the results she delivers. I’m smaller and therefore can support people in the home only, but you should see similar results.
